OUR STORY

Welcome! Let us tell you about ourselves.  We are Jake and Heather from Layton; UT. Jake grew up learning how to shoot at a young age at two.  He has been shooting everything from rifles to handguns.  Jake has a B.S in History with a Minor in Criminal Justice from Weber State University. He also earned his master’s in business administration from Western Governors University.   He is NRA Certified to teach Handgun classes and Concealed Carry.  He passed his courses to teach security classes including armed security. And is a trained operator in the simulator series that the business is introducing. His training with other people and companies, along with experience around firearms, brings versatility and a fresh mindset.  He knows that not one person is the same and caters his teaching to ensure the student is comfortable and succeeds.

Heather grew up around firearms but had only shot a rifle, and not a handgun, until shortly after she married Jake.  Ever since shooting a handgun, she has made sure to train properly and understand firearm safety. She continues to train to help others during the classes as a range safety officer. She understands the importance of training to protect herself and others and wants to ensure others can do the same.

We are strong supporters of the constitution and believe everyone has the right to carry and defend themselves.  We believe with this right comes a responsibility to train yourself in the proper use of your firearms. Properly training this can bring confidence to protect others should the need arise.  A properly trained populace could help save a life.

We are constantly seeking out knowledge and resources to help us train ourselves, which in turn allows us to train others.  This includes attending classes.  Instructors are continuous students.  One of our philosophies is that following the fundamentals of marksmanship will help all students, beginners to advance. Not only do we want our children to be able to defend themselves, but we also want others to be able to teach theirs about firearms safety and proper training.
